Remember how much you loved visting your grandmother? Well, if your granny is not nearby, or may have passed away, you may have the chance to bring a smile to a grandmother who is lonely! Our patients need visitors just to be able to talk with someone. A volunteer may read to the patient, play a board game, or even watch a favorite TV program with them. Hospice patient support volunteers provide companionship for patients because many times their family members live in other cities, or perhaps they are working and cant visit as often as they would like. This opportunity will bless you as the volunteer as you provide a bright spot in the day for the patient!

Description
The purpose of Gentiva Hospice care is to assist individuals with serious illness to live as fully as possible surrounded by family and friends until the end of life. Hospice programs focus on patient directed care that maximizes comfort and quality of life. Quality of life is also enhanced by program services that support the patient’s family in maintaining the patient in the home.
