Girls on the Run Napa & Solano is a healthy empowerment program for young girls. Girls are inspired to be joyful, caring, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based national life skill curriculum which creatively integrates running or just moving it.
The research proven Girls on the Run national curriculum, the Napa & Solano County Girls on the Run reputation as the positive, healthy and fun after-school program for girls and our healthy and enthusiastic women role models are helping Napa and Solano County bridge our educational gap, improve health and promote equality so that #likeagirl is a compliment.
Girls meet twice a week for ten weeks, seventy-five (75) minutes each, after-school. The healthy empowerment program is led by at least two trained, volunteer healthy women role models who creatively weave engaging life skill discussions using the research based international curriculum with fun, experiential games/activities and running or just moving it.
The Girls on the Run girls (ages 8 to 10) learn lessons such as having an attitude of gratitude, expressing feelings in a healthy manner, and knowing real beauty shines from the inside-out. The Heart & Sole (ages 11 to 13) girls learn lessons that focus on the whole child (mind, body, spirit, heart & social) and helps the girls stay resilient, positive and stronger while dealing with the current pressures as they grow into young adults.
All girls experience the sense of achievement by completing a non-competitive 5K and community impact project. Our commitment is to enable all girls, fitness levels, body types, economic status and ethnicity to participate, but in particular, low income and mixed ethnicities girls.
We'll work with your schedule.
