The admin assistant provides administrative assistance to the Clinic Coordinator, and associated staff. This may include day-to-day office and clinic functions, calling patients, data entry, patient outreach and special projects.
Day-to-day office functions include tasks such as checking voice mail, compiling a clinic inventory, putting together a patient resource file and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Day-to-day clinic functions include tasks such as compiling blank patient charts, entering patient information into the patient database, calling patients with lab results and sorting and labeling medications.
Outreach may include tasks such as contacting existing diabetic patients to schedule annual eye exams, contacting existing female patients to schedule annual Well-Woman exams, reaching out to potential clinic food donors and distributing clinic fliers and information at partner organizations.
HOURS: Mondays, or Wednesdays: 2 hour shift between 10 AM and 3:00 PM
SUPERVISOR: ClinicCoordinator
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Basic computer skills and ability to make database entries.
- Professional phone and reception manner.
- Good organizational skills.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse racial, ethnic and economic populations.
- Availability on a regularly scheduled basis and consistent email contact for scheduling purpose.
- At least a six month commitment
- Must speak Spanish

Southwest Community Health Center (SWCHC) is a safety-net clinic providing basic, quality health services to low-income residents of SW Portland. We were established to make sure that members of our community without resources to access necessary health services have a place to receive health care.
