A-OK Volunteers serve as mentors and tutors for Howard County elementary and middle school children. A volunteer can provide one-on-one mentoring/tutoring in the school, or serve in afterschool programs working with children individually or in small groups.
A-OK volunteers make a commitment to serve for the school year and do not mentor/tutor in the summer. Information Sessions are held that provide details about the organization, available volunteer opportunities, and the process. Our upcoming Information Session will be held February 15th. If you are interested in attending one of these sessions, please register at www.aokmentor.org or email susan@aokmentor.org

Description
AOK Mentoring & Tutoring is a nonprofit and official partner of the Howard County Public Schools that recruits, screens, trains, and oversees volunteers who mentor and tutor students in many county elementary and middle schools. Students are identified by school liaisons as children who could benefit from one-on-one attention. The Volunteer Mentor-Tutor visits with the student weekly during the school day, throughout the school year.
