Professionals needed for Board of Directors/Advisory board
We are seeking a location for the cafe. We are not open as of yet.
We will be having community events once a month-in which we will operate as a "Pay-What-You-Can afford cafe at the VFW hall in Patchogue. We will be using this location until we get a store front for the cafe.

Qualifications
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual+ who is passionate about Harmony Cafe's mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector
- A commitment to and understanding of Harmony Cafe beneficiaries, preferably based on experience
- Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of Harmony Cafe's beneficiaries
We will also consider Board members that do not have the above experience. If you have experience in the following fields- Business/Education/Restaurant/Community Leaders/PTA/Fund-raising/Law/Accounting/Education/RNs/MD-PH.D/Medical fields. We would very much be interested in speaking to you.

Is to build an inclusive community and promote health by offering high-quality healthy meals, based on a pay-what-you-can donation model. Serving our guests in a respectful and dignified matter in a café setting, where everybody eats, regardless of means.
Description
Providing the basic need for food and community in welcoming gathering place for all our community members, regardless of their means. Dining together and supporting one another in building friendships and a healthier community.
Harmony Cafe for the past two years had monthly luncheon at Noon on the second Wednesday of each month at our temporary location at the VFW post-2913 on 32 Edwards Street in Patchogue, NY. We used a Pay-What-You-Can donation model. We had no prices on the menu, we had a suggested donation instead. Our lunches were two and a half hours in length and include live music. It was a social event meant to bring the community together, regardless of social status. We all deserve to have access to healthy food in an environment that is free of judgment and stigma for all people. Harmony Cafe is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization.
We are working on new ways to bring harmony cafe's concept to other towns on Long Island.
We are creating a Pop Up events across Long Island. Farm to table events as well as Pay What You Can lunch and dinner events.
Our goal is to have our storefront that will be open five days a week for lunch and dinner.
