Great Lakes Caring Hospice, a leading care provider in the Midwest, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families.

Great Lakes Caring Hospice is looking for volunteers who will visit patients in local nursing facilities or in private homes. These volunteers will be a part of creating a memorable visit for hospice patients and their families by joining them for an hour of tea! Volunteers are needed to assist in planning and attending "A Tea to Remember" event at local nursing homes. These events are not only about the tea, treats, music, and happy memories, but also the opportunity to improve our patient’s quality of life. Hours are very flexible, weekdays, evenings or weekends. Typically, we ask that you visit your assigned patient 1-2 hours per week, but a minimum of 4 hours a month is required of any volunteer.

Great Lakes Caring Hospice, a leading care provider in the Midwest, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families.

Volunteers are needed to visit with patients and engage them in activities such as, playing music or singing, working on a craft project or sharing a special talent, or simply providing companionship through listening, talking, or holding a hand. Volunteers can provide respite care, allowing family members to take a much-needed break.

There are also volunteer opportunities within the Great Lakes Caring office, assisting staff with mailing, filing, computer work and data entry, as well as other special projects.

Great Lakes Caring is also looking for Pet Therapy volunteers. These volunteers along with their trained pet companions visit Hospice patients in facilities. Dogs must be certified in order to visit patients.

Hours are very flexible, weekdays, evenings or weekends. Typically, we ask that you would visit your assigned patient 1-2 hours per week, or offer 1-2 hours per week of work in the office.
