Program Assistants will serve on the Production Committee for 2021 Caribbean American Heritage Month. The will be assigned to the design and execution of activities planned for Caribbean American Heritage Month, the month of June. Caribbean American Heritage Month activities include: 30 Under 30 Awards; 30 Caribbean Icons and Legends PSA; Diaspora and Development Conference; National Legislative Conference; and World Ocean’s Day Festival (June 8). This includes event coordination, speaker liaison, event marketing and promotions.

Responsibilities will be assigned according to skill and interest and could include for example:

  • Assist in the coordination of community partners around the country
  • Assist with the design and execution of conferences
  • Assist with video shoots, including all pre-production tasks as well as any and all production tasks during video shoots needed for production of 30 VideoStories about Caribbean American Icons and Legends
  • Assist in the production and editing of Public Service Announcements for TV and placing on Public Service Channels
  • Assist on all production coordination tasks, including research and development of daily PSAs
  • Attend various events in DMV area and support PR and social media during the event
  • Requirements might include e.g.:
  • Experience with event planning e.g. seminars, conferences, parties
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience with using iMovie or other online PPT to Video programming
  • Experience with blogging
  • Experience with camera, audio and lighting equipment
  • Experience with Google+, Skype, YouTube
  • Some experience with graphics, specifically with Adobe Premiere is a plus
  • Fluency in English
  • Must possess ability to take direction and work on a wide range of tasks and projects daily
  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple events simultaneously
  • A commitment of at least three months
