YWCA Passage Point is a supportive housing program for parents who would otherwise be homeless and are reuniting with their children and families. At Passage Point, we empower parents and children to gain the skills and confidence necessary to become self-sufficient.
Children's Activity Volunteers will develop and lead youth-appropriate activities at least twice per week for a group of 5-20 youth of varying ages. Activities can include, but are not limited to: arts, sports, games, leadership, community service, and skill building.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Child Advocate in youth activities
- Assist youth with specialized, one-on-one help when needed
- Communicate clearly with YWCA staff
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience working with children and in behavioral intervention
- Flexibility in the classroom
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and non-judgmental environment for the youth
- Enthusiastic to work with youth
- Minimum age: 16 years old
- Available for 4-6 hours per week in the afternoon (Mon-Fri)
