ORGANIZATION: Artportunity Knocks

Artportunity Knocks

Artportunity Knocks' mission is to empower youth through POSITIVE Arts Self-Expression, Education and Community Service and Bridging the Cultures through Arts & Entertainment.

Beatknocks gives students an overview of music production, music engineering and songwriting basics. This program is specifically for middle and high school students.

In music production, students will learn how to create a song from start to finish. In music engineering, students will learn how to take an existing song and edit, mix, record, and sample. At the end of this program, students will have a better concept of song structure and the elements of being a music producer. Students will also have a finished project which will be posted on the Artportunity Knocks website.

Volunteers must have a strong working knowledge of one or all of these DAWs: Logic Pro X, Pro Tools and Native Instruments Maschine. Volunteers will assist in guiding students to have a finished project using the above software.
