The YWCA Princeton has recently become a HISET (high school equivancy test) testing center and we are in need of math teachers to prep students for the exam. The HISET exam is the new alternative to the GED test. Sometimes we get Spanish speaking students, therefore bilingual math teachers are welcomed!

Volunteers are needed for any of the following days:

  • Tuesday 12:30-2:30PM
  • Thursday 6:30-8:30 PM
  • Friday 6:30-8:30 PM

Fall classes run from September 13 to December 22. Our class size varies from 2-5 students. Volunteers can either teach a class or work individually with a student.

If interested, please contact Alesha Vega, Volunteer Coordinator at avega@ywcaprincton.org.

Mission Statement

YWCA Princeton is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women.

Description

The mission of the YWCA Princeton is to eliminate racism and empower women. Everything we do is intended to be true to this purpose.

More than 5,000 members take advantage of our programs and services: from child care, after-school care, and summer camps to dance, art and crafts and book clubs; from educational lectures and seminars to aquatics, martial arts and wellness classes.

Our mission to eliminate racism is highlighted by our English as a Second Language program and our multi-lingual nursery school, as well as our annual "Stand Against Racism," which has been replicated by YWCAs across the country.

Our mission to empower women is the hallmark of our Breast Cancer Resource Center, which provides help, hope and ongoing support for breast cancer survivors, and their families and caregivers.

Every day, we encourage women and girls to become volunteers, mentors, thinkers, and leaders. As we put our mission into action, the Friends of the YWCA lead the charge to allocate eighty-five cents of every dollar we raise to the women and families of our communities.
