Tortugas Fundación Yepez A.C. is a non-profit organization that has been protecting sea turtles in veracruz Mexico for 49 years. The organization is grassroots and we need all the help we can get to be able to protect this endangered species and implement all of the eco-projects that we run. Sea Turtles are endangered because of many reasons such as death through fishing nets and pollution, consumption of their eggs as well as increased amounts of predators and we work in many different ways to conserve and protect them. Whilst most of the work is hands on work on the beach, there are also many things such as administration that needs to be done in the office, reforestation projects, community projects, environmental education and recycling programs, so variety is definitely part of the job. We are looking for volunteers this summer. Please find more information about us on our website (English/Volunteers) and contact us with any questions you might have on The only requirements are good health, independency and a desire to help protect sea turtles and their environment and of course being in Mexico, speaking Spanish does help!
