SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATORS

OBA is an organization with a fifty year history of providing award winning environmental education programs to under resourced urban youth of color. We need your help to share our success by upgrading our visibility in the social media.

We are building a team of social media volunteers to help develop and implement a Social Media Strategy to enhance "brand" awareness, encourage involvement and roll out a crowd funding campaign. Coordinators will work with the executive director, the resource development team and the board of directors to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network. This is a big job and we anticipate that we may need several volunteers to take on specific aspects of the position. We can tailor a position for you as your time and interests allow, including leading the team. This is an opportunity for the right volunteers to sharpen their social media skills.

The scope of work includes the following:

◦Design and implement a social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the organization to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the organizations programs.

◦Work with the development team to ensure social media tools are kept up to date

◦Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy, writing editorial, community-outreach efforts, promotions, etc.

◦Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed

◦Become an advocate of the organization in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate

◦Manage a Blogger outreach program and build an active brand ambassador network to spread the word about the organization.

◦Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results

◦Regularly feed back insights gained from social media monitoring into the Development team to help them evolve their strategies in a timely fashion

◦Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications

OBA strives to include volunteers in our programs in the wilderness. Hopefully we can take you away from your computers on excting outward bound adventures.
