Volunteering in Uganda is a stimulating and provoking experience. This Beacon of Hope Uganda program enables you to absorb the fascinating Ugandan culture whilst sharing your knowledge and skills with the country. The projects will provide an unforgettable eye opening experience for a gap year, vacation, spring break or career break for groups and individual travelers. Like no other country, Uganda represents the changing faces of recent African history. Behind the people's optimism and the country's beauties lie the horrors and ruins of a dark and gloomy past.
However, Uganda is more than worth a visit - not just because of its awesome landscape and its incredible bio-diversity. It is simply moving to see how the people overcome the nightmares of the past and how they fight for a normal, settled life. Our volunteer projects in Uganda are based in Mukono and surrounding districts. Our projects are basically working with children, youth, women and communities in need.

Description
GVA Foundation- Africa is a registered charity that runs community projects in rural areas across Africa, focusing on long term community-led solutions to challenges caused by extreme poverty and poor education.
We recruit and place willing, non-skilled and skilled volunteers within our projects across the country. GVA Foundation - Africa seeks to aid in the development of self-sufficient, locally run projects which effectively address the most pressing needs of disadvantaged communities.
Volunteering is an amazing way to gain an insight into the culture of a country. By volunteering with a sustainable and responsible project you will not only become part of the community you work with, but will also be making a valuable contribution to long term solutions for the community served by the project you work with. GVA Foundation - Africa offers volunteers opportunities to work with the following projects:
All GVA Foundation volunteer placements include a donation to your project, the cost of your accommodation, pre-departure preparation and in-country orientation, supervision and training. It also covers the cost of food and daily transport to and from your placement location.
