If you have an outgoing personality and enjoy interacting with people a generation or two order than yourself, then being a Helping Hands Volunteer for The Denver Hospice is right for you!
The Denver Hospice is seeking volunteers to provide company for residents at Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Facilities by just being present in good conversation, hosting dances, playing card games and bingo nights. Residents who have life limiting illness will enjoy the activities run by volunteers as it is an integral part of bringing the feeling of home to the facilities.
The Denver Hospice serves 500 patients and families throughout the 9 county Denver-metro area. Currently volunteers are needed in Littleton, Centennial, Englewood, Aurora, Denver, Golden, Lakewood, Morrison, Commerce City, Northglenn, Thornton, Westminster, Parker, Brighton, Castle Rock, and other areas, so please let us know what area is convenient for you!
We do ask that all volunteers give a commitment of at least 1 year serving at least 1 time per week (exact hours/schedule is flexible), complete all required trainings, reference checks, interviews, paperwork, as well as a background check & tuberculosis testing (background check and TB testing provided at no cost to you). To volunteer with The Denver Hospice at this time, you must be at least 18 years of age.
