Volunteers help unload and sort, inspect and categorize donated food products (such as dry good and produce). Help keep area and cooler clean and free of safety hazards. We ask volunteer to commit to assisting with one shift (3-4 hours) weekly or bi-weekly. Available hours: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri: 9 AM - 3 PM and Tue: 9 AM - 1 PM
The minimum age to volunteer is 14 years old. 14-15 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 years of age or older. Any youth under age of 18 must have a signed parent permission form.
Sorting donated food Volunteers help unload and sort, inspect and categorize donated food products (such as canned goods dry goods, produce and Bread). Help keep area and cooler clean and free of safety hazards. Breakdown boxes and fold bags. Stock food pantry shelves as needed. The ability to lift 10-30 pounds is helpful but not required. Pull needed food items from stooge room.
Greeter/Guest intake specialist Greet and welcome Food Bank guests, determine eligibility using drivers’ licenses or identity cards, and sign in or register new guests by entering basic information into our Food Bank database. Explain Food Bank procedures as needed. Skills Necessary: Basic computer skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills and a customer service orientation. Ability to read fine print on driver’s licenses and other documents. Comfortable in a busy environment. Ability to work on your feet for several hours
Food Bank Helper Assist clients thought the food pantry as they pick out there food. Helping clients to carry groceries to their cars. Help stock food pantry shelves as needed.
