The New Hampshire Sierra Club is a non-profit member-supported, public interest organization that promotes conservation of New Hampshire's natural environment by influencing public policy decisions--legislative, administrative, legal, and electoral. There are more than 10,000 Sierra Club members and supporters in New Hampshire and over 2.1 million across the country. We are your family, friends and neighbors.
We are looking for volunteers to work 5-10 hours/week with our Development and Membership staff on some really fun projects!
Duties will include assisting with events, fundraising appeals and social media, marketing, retail/merchandise, assisting with data entry and donor acknowledgement and other responsibilities based on the volunteer's and organization's needs.
Qualifications:
Interest in environmental issues and nonprofit management
Attention to detail
Strong writing skills
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, use of social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, a plus

About New Hampshire Sierra Club
Location:
40 North Main Street, Concord, NH 03301, US
Mission Statement
To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
Description
There is nothing inevitable about the future of our environment. A poisoned stream can get worse, stay the same, or get better; it depends largely on what we choose to do. It is this simple belief, backed by a deep history of effort and results, which drives the New Hampshire chapter of the Sierra Club. This is why the Aspen Institute named the Sierra Club "the most influential environmental organization," and it's why our members possess the unique ability to empower people and influence public policy through activism, public education, lobbying, and litigation.
The New Hampshire chapter, founded in 1992, consists of over 5,500 member-activists, and is based in Concord, New Hampshire.
