WHAT: We are looking for certified pet therapy teams to visit our hospice patients and families. Bring smiles, comfort and compassion to someone's day.
WHEN: Flexible; choose what works for you and your furbaby. Typically our pet therapy teams visit patients and families 2-4x/mo; depending on availability.
WHERE: Facilities (such as nursing homes and assisted livings) and private homes throughout the Twin Cities metro area. We especially need volunteers in and around Burnsville, Roseville, White Bear Lake, Mounds View, Woodbury, Savage and Plymouth.
HOW: Proof of current pet therapy certification along with our hospice volunteer training program.

Description
When life expectancy is limited, AccentCare Fairview Hospice staff and volunteers help patients and caregivers focus on improving the quality of their remaining days. Hospice provides medical, emotional, social and spiritual care. We bring these services to the familiar setting of patients' own homes whenever possible. The same kind of care may also be given at a long-term care site, a group home, an assisted living site or a residential hospice.
