Help Avivo assist individuals recovering from a mental illness. Help us eliminate the stigma that surrounds mental illness and mental health. Volunteers needed to assist with preparing supplies for drop-in hours as well as assist with clean up. During drop-in, volunteers interact members with mental illness through social, recreational, and wellness activities. Examples: yoga, cooking, billards, ping pong, board games, card games, etc.
Volunteers may also have the opportunity to lead or co-lead a group if they are interested and knowledgable on a particular subject. Currently, we'd love someone interested in leading a healthy cooking group or a drum circle.
Available Monday - Thursday 11 am to 5 pm. Friday 11am to 3 pm.

Description
Avivo serves nearly 15,000 Minnesotans each year, helping them achieve recovery, stable housing, employment and economic advancement. Founded in 1960, Avivo provides chemical and mental health services, housing support services, career education and employment services. We specialize in helping individuals and families who face personal or systemic barriers - poverty, homelessness, joblessness, chemical addiction or mental health concerns.
Avivo is unique because we pair our services to help individuals achieve lasting success. Our chemical and mental health services include chemical and mental health assessments, substance use disorder treatment (outpatient and residential) for individuals and families, mental health therapy, targeted case management and care coordination. Our ending homelessness services include street outreach for individuals living unsheltered, indoor tiny houses shelter (Avivo Village), hotel-to-home initiatives, transitional recovery housing and housing targeted case management. We operate Avivo Institute of Career & Technical Education which provides short-term training to earn industry credentials that launch individuals on career pathways and living wage jobs. Our full range of employment services customizes support for unemployed and under-employed individuals who are struggling to find work, transition or start their careers.
