Playworker Volunteer:
- Volunteer onsite during Museum open hours alongside staff to assist with programming and exhibits in a customer service capacity.
- Assist and/or facilitate preset programming at offsite community events. Days/times vary.
- Assist and/or facilitate birthday parties and group visits. Days/times vary.
- Assist and/or facilitate Toddler Wednesdays, STEAM and Awesome Arts Saturdays and other programming activities during Museum open hours.
- Engage visitors with program activities, possible set up/cleanup of program.
- Museum Open Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 9 am - 4 pm, Sunday noon - 4 pm. Non School Days to be determined.
Special Projects Volunteer:
- Work on an as needed basis to complete Museum projects as they arise.
- Projects may include: backyard care, exhibit maintenance, sewing, cleaning and office projects.
- Days/times vary.
Special Events Volunteer:
- Assist with on and offsite community engagement and fundraising events as needed.
- Days/times vary.
Special Content Guest:
A Special Content Guest may volunteer their skills in the follow areas:
- STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math)
- Arts or Humanities (Visual arts, music, performing arts, creative writing, poetry, history)
- Fabricating/Manufacturing
- Agriculture
- Wellness (nutrition, gardening, yoga, fitness, meditation)
- Toddlers
- Dakota Content
Specific programs or presentations will be developed in cooperation with CMSM staff to design experiences reflecting the guest's skill set and expertise.

Description
Volunteering at the Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota is an extraordinary way to give back to your community and engage children with the power of play. We have unique opportunities for volunteers to support the Museum by assisting visitors in hands-on exhibits or by helping with behind-the-scenes activities. Volunteers help the Museum fulfill its mission by sparking a lifelong love of learning in our children and in our community.
