Companions needed to sit at the bedside of terminal patients at the end of life. Someone to hold a hand, to pray with them, to let them know that it is ok for them to leave, a compassionate caring person, that can work with a team of volunteers to set up a schedule to be with the patient. You will visit people near your home.

At Heartland, we help preserve our patient's dignity, show them the respect they richly deserve and provide compassionate care by making these Heartland Caring Promises, and by working hard to keep them: We promise to care for the mind, body and spirit. We promise to provide care that is comforting and compassionate. We promise to respect patient and family choices. We promise to unite with community partners in care. We promise to be accepting and supportive of pstients wherever they are in life's journey.
Hospice is a philosophy of care. Heartland Hospice is dedicated to providing patients with care wherever they consider home. Our caregivers help manage pain and symptoms, enabling our patients to live their lives as fully and comfortable as possible. Social workers and bereavement counselors create a comforting environment in which patients and families are able to share their thoughts, hopes and concerns. And special bereavement programs provide emotional support to patients and families who need help coping.
The Heartland Hospice team is committed to supporting patients' and families' goals, and encourages families to be involved in all care decisions. Our focus is on sustaining quality of life by encouraging personal choices, supporting meaningful experiences and preserving patient dignity.
We'll work with your schedule.
