You can help others in your community by volunteering for just one hour per week. Volunteering in areas that are close to your home or office. You decide your location from the areas we serve.

Are you out of work? If so, volunteering looks great on your resume.

Volunteers are needed to sit with patients, read to them, talk with them, pray with them, hold their hands or be there with them.

Volunteers are also needed to stay with the patient in their home, to allow their caregivers to take a break and run errands.

Won't you please join thousands of other volunteers in helping out this year?

Please respond to our e-mail address or by calling our Volunteer Coordinator, Dee Coppeans at 636-390-4723 or 636-221-8590.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering.

About Heartland Hospice

Location:

770 Independence Dr, Union, MO 63084, US

Mission Statement

At Heartland Hospice, formerly ProMedica Hospice, we understand the importance of time shared with family and friends, especially when facing the challenges of a life-limiting illness. Our clinicians are dedicated to offering the compassionate physical, spiritual and emotional care people need to make the most of these moments.

Description

Heartland Hospice has an ongoing need for Volunteers to visit with our patients diagnosed with life-limiting conditions whom have elected hospice care.

Hospice is a comprehensive, medically-directed, team-oriented program of care that focuses on symptom management, comfort, and providing support that meets physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Hospice volunteers provide extra love and care to patients and their families. For example, a hospice volunteer may provide support by staying with the patient so family members can take a break, or they can run an errand for the patient, read scripture, play or sing a patient’s favorite song, hold the patient’s hand, and provide companionship to help reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Heartland Hospice Volunteers truly make a difference in the lives of others!
