ORGANIZATION: Phoenix Zoo

Position Summary:

Harmony Farm Guides are energetic, personable individuals with strong communication skills and who are eager to share their knowledge and passion of the natural world. Guides are stationed near the horse, sheep, cows and Red Barn on Nina Mason Pulliam Children’s Trail. Guides also spend time in the Red Barn’s petting area interacting with guests and animals. As a Guide, you are expected to answer questions and maintain safe areas for guests and animals alike.

Essential Duties:

  1. Interact with guests using age-appropriate conversation.
  2. Enhance guests’ experiences through educational interpretation.
  3. Communicate the Phoenix Zoo's messaging to guests.
  4. Monitor the public's interaction with exhibit animals to help maintain the safety of both guests and animals.
  5. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
  6. Have a presence in Harmony Farm to assist guests with common questions and general wayfinding.
