About

Hudson River Park’s Neighborhood Gardener Volunteers work alongside like-minded individuals and trained horticulture staff members to complete various gardening tasks within the Park’s gardens, fields, and flower beds.
Shifts are available April through October, allowing Neighborhood Gardeners to experience the different seasonal needs and aesthetic offerings of this urban recreational paradise. With the Hudson River and the impressive cityscape as a backdrop, volunteers gain an immersive experience into the Park’s history, goals, and beautification and preservation efforts.

Neighborhood Gardeners will participate in landscape enhancement activities including planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, trimming of ornamental grasses, addition of soil amendments, cleaning of vegetation beds, and other general gardening tasks.
