You are friendly, outgoing, love kids, and most importantly believe that all kids deserve pain-free and decay-free smiles.

Our free dental services are available to low-income and uninsured kids in Portland Public School District, and we want to make sure the kids and families who need care know how to reach us.

Volunteers will brainstorm outreach opportunities, connect with event organizers and community members, or participate in tabling or presentations. Other opportunities include:

  • Envelope assembling and mailing
  • Flyer drop-off
  • And more!

We are especially interested in working with volunteers who have experience working in low-income communities, or speak languages other than English.

Mission Statement

The Friends of Creston Children’s Dental Clinic provides free preventative, restorative, and emergency dental care to uninsured and low-income children attending Portland Public Schools.

Description

The Friends of Creston Children’s Dental Clinic is one of the only places in Portland where large numbers of low-income children can receive regular, high quality dental care in a clinic based setting. Established in 1962, Creston provides more than 1,200 students in the Portland Public School District with over 5,600 dental procedures each year. In 2010, The Friends of Creston Children’s Dental Clinic (FCCDC) assumed control of Creston from its founders, the Assistance League of Portland, who had decided to close the clinic. Since then, FCCDC has greatly re-vitalized the clinic with a new, more efficient operating model that is based on volunteers, collaboration, education, and cultural competency of care. Qualifying children receive treatment for free through the generosity of volunteer dental professionals.
