Many students, especially in the healthcare industry, are looking to gain direct patient care volunteer hours for their degree. Hospice is a great fit to make that happen. We provide exactly what a healthcare student needs to fulfill those hours for their degree! The patients and families are extremely grateful to have volunteers to talk to and entertain. We provide students with the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a terminally ill patient and the experience of working at end-of-life care. You can decide to see patients and provide them with stories, music, help around the house, etc. or you can help assist the office located at 84 NE Interstate 410 Loop with administrative work! You can also create your own schedule and work as many hours as you would like! Let me know if you are interested and we can set up a date for an interview. Not only will you gain hours for a degree, but you will also have an experience that you can only get in hospice and end of life care. Do not hesitate to reach me at Taylor.Ferdinand-Bessant@compassus.com if you have any questions or comments.
About Compassus Hospice
84 NE Loop 410, Suite 390, San Antonio, TX 78216, US
The Colleagues of Hospice Compassus are committed to keeping The Hospice Promise by delivering the highest quality of care, serving the needs of patients and families and spreading the stories of hospice to those with whom they come into contact.
Most volunteers feel personally rewarded through offering their time, energy and compassion when they see how much they are able to help patients and families. Further benefits frequently experienced by our volunteers include:
- Greater self-knowledge from insights gained from relationships with patients, their families and from the hospice volunteer training.
- Spiritual growth from supporting a person through the final days while increasing the awareness of their own sense of spiritual values.
The people that make up Compassus are dedicated to compassionate care, clinical excellence and providing comfort and support to patients and their families with end-of-life issues. This includes our volunteers.
At Compassus, we believe that every life is unique and deserves a meaningful and personal final journey. Perhaps you’ve experienced hospice services with a member of your family, or are looking for a meaningful way to volunteer your time. If you believe that giving your time can enhance the lives of others, we encourage you to explore volunteer opportunities with Compassus.
