Mentors and Aides wanted! The Hā Initiative is a creative STEM after-school program where you can make a big impact on your community! Volunteers provide individualized attention to students and assist the teacher in an after-school classroom teaching science and math to kids from 2nd to 8th grade. Volunteers help with homework, hands on science experiments, and can pitch in when our Exploration Centers compete in the First Lego League robotics competitions every year, October through December.

Additionally, volunteers serve as an extra pair of helping hands in the classroom, working with all children, and assisting the teacher in a variety of ways including: sign-in and sign-out of participants, snack time, lab set-up, and attending field trips. Hā Initiative volunteers are a key component of the program’s success. Our volunteers inspire the children by being a role model and teaching them that learning is fun.

Volunteer hours would be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday 2:30-5:30pm, or Wednesday 1:30-5:30pm. Minimum once a week commitment for 3 months, or more if you choose!

Make a difference in a child’s life, become a volunteer with the Hā Initiative today!
