SNA and Refugees

Services for New Americans at Ascentria Care Alliance works with refugees and immigrants, offering client-centered assistance that includes individualized case management, English language classes, health and mental health support, housing placement, and cultural orientation.

We are looking for volunteers with a background/interest in education or social services who would like to work with adult learners, helping them reach their goals of learning English. Tutors would work one-on-one or with small groups of individuals.

Volunteer tutors will help clients learn basic English, prepare for the driver’s permit test, practice for job interviews, and/or review important cultural orientation topics. Training and materials will be provided by the organization.

We are seeking volunteers to work both at our office as well as in homes of clients who cannot attend class because of childcare needs.
