Are you a good listener? Do you love helping others? Consider volunteering with Suncoast Kids Place as a volunteer facilitator. Volunteers are able to offer supportive care to grieving children, teens, and their caregivers during their grief process in a peer support group setting. We do require all volunteers to attend an interview, view training videos, and pass a national background check. Suncoast Kids Place provides free grief support groups in three locations: Lutz, Brandon, and virtually. We provide groups for children ages 3-18 and in most cases, anytime the kids have a group, there is a co-occurring caregiver group. SKP is looking for volunteers to support the children as well as the adults.

Description
Suncoast Kids Place is founded on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a supportive and understanding environment. However, our society fails to understand or support the needs of a child and family in grief. We offer ongoing grief support for the death of a significant person. Families are invited to join our organization at any point after the death and can stay with us as long as they desire. Our groups range in age from 3-18 years old and their caregiver. In addition to our peer support groups we also are able to offer a once a year weekend camp called Camp Erin.
