I 'Raise Girls and Boys International Corporation, a nonprofit in the Bronx dedicated to serving and leading youth to success, is looking for an energetic and motivated Mentor Program Intern. The ideal candidate will have prior experience mentoring.

This is a volunteer position and is unpaid

Reports to: Mentor Program Coordinator


Job Description

- Represent agency in the community; Communicate with school personnel, families, referral agencies and other organizations on behalf of the Mentoring program and as representative of the agency;

- Ensure that program services are carried out, such as activities, follow-up support to matches and life skills workshops; Keep agency current on all volunteer screening issues and techniques; - Work with Executive Director, Program Manager and consultants to develop and implement ongoing evaluation procedures; - Manage evaluation data collection; - Provide reports as needed to Executive Director, including monthly data into an operational summary; - Assist in other programmatic functions as required, such as special events, to support the program; - Take a lead role in exploring community collaborations and developing supplemental support services for youth, including the lead in the Mentor Group; - Identify, evaluate and propose solutions to program areas that need special attention; - Serve as a member of the Staff Management Team; - Coordinate mentoring services content for Web page. - Manage a caseload of mentor matches meeting. matches per year; - Manage an additional caseload of other matches meeting best practices in mentoring and recruit the additional - recruitment of volunteers to develop into mentors - Participate in staff development opportunities and follow research in the mentor field; - Make weekly contact with matched volunteers; - Develop an annual Program Plan that includes, but is not limited to, planned training workshops for volunteers, community recruitment activities and support groups; - Maintain effective communication within the agency (Executive Director and Program Manager) and with the community on the progress of the project; - Complete the required reporting, attend and report to the JCPC Council on the project
