We are looking for passionate volunteers to join our team! The Elk Grove Police Department’s Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) are an important part of the team and we are truly grateful for all of their devoted service. Our VIPS allow the department to provide an even higher level of prompt, courteous service to all the citizens of Elk Grove.

The mission of the Elk Grove Police Department is to work in partnership with the community to protect life and property, solve neighborhood problems, and enhance the quality of life in our City.
The mission of the Elk Grove Police Volunteers is to support the department by providing non-enforcement services that allow sworn officers to focus on their primary mission of crime prevention and enforcement of state and city laws.
Description
The Elk Grove Police Department’s Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) are a team of trained citizen volunteers who assist the department with non-enforcement duties. Members do not take enforcement action, carry weapons, or make arrests.
Our VIPS allow the department to provide an even higher level of prompt, courteous service to all the citizens of Elk Grove.
The VIPS fill a variety of positions that support both the staff and the community. You can find volunteers in almost every division of the Police Department; their hard work allows sworn officials to focus on their primary mission of crime prevention.
