CFPA Ramble Guides share their interest and passion for the outdoors with the public through CFPA Rambles, which are free as a public service. Ramble Guides choose a park, trail or other outdoor path in their community. Rambles range from hiking to a vista for families with older children to leisurely nature walks, greenway walks, shape and color hunts, letterboxing quests, etc. They are offered at trails and parks around the state every month. CFPA Rambles connect people with the outdoors so they may feel comfortable in getting outside for better health - of themselves, their family, and the environment. The long-term goal is to have a Ramble in each county every month. CFPA Rambles is a program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA). While CFPA's office is in Middlefield, we are looking for volunteers to lead rambles in their own community. CFPA works to conserve CT and connect people to the land. Description

The Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting people to the land in order to protect forests, parks, walking trails, and open spaces in Connecticut for future generations.

In 2016, CFPA Volunteers dedicated over 29,000 hours, valued at over $805,000, to advocating, educating, monitoring properties, leading recreational programs, and continually improving the 825-miles of Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails.

We envision Connecticut as a place of scenic beauty whose cities, suburbs, and villages are linked by a network of parks, forests, and trails easily accessible for all people to challenge the body and refresh the spirit. We picture a state where clean water, timber, farm fresh foods, and other products of the land make a significant contribution to our economic and cultural well-being. And we hope you will help us in achieving this vision.
