GED Instructor at San Juan Village

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Volunteers of America Texas

San Juan Village is an affordable housing program serving low income families. We need an instructor to teach the GED curriculum and to prepare the students to pass the GED. This is an opportunity for individuals or for an agency and youth can assist with tutoring. Obtaining a GED will increase the potential of a job/promotion, thus increasing the likelihood of financial independence. In addition, educated parents tend to motivate their children to also complete and even pursue further education, thus eventually removing the family from a cycle of poverty. Overall, the sense of accomplishment promotes a healthy self-esteem to both the client and the volunteer.
