Alamo Village is an affordable housing program serving low income families. This opportunity is for individuals or an agency to teach GED courses to adults. Obtaining a GED will increase the potential of obtaining a job/promotion, thus increasing the likelihood of financial independece. In addition, educated parents tend to motivate their children to continue on with their education as well, thus removing the family from a cycle of poverty. Overall, the sense of accomplishment promotes a healthy self-esteem for the entire family. Youth can be used as tutors.
