COME JOIN OUR TEAM OF EXCEPTIONAL PROVIDERS

Americares operates four free clinics in Fairfield County in Norwalk, Bridgeport, Danbury, and Stamford. Our mission is to provide free quality health care to low-income, uninsured residents in a setting where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. By partnering with local hospitals and Quest Diagnostics for donated laboratory and diagnostic testing, and by relying upon a hybrid paid/volunteer staff, we are able to provide free primary care to the working poor. Since 1994, we have provided more than $141 million in medical care to 28,000 patients.

Providers receive excellent support from our caring and competent team of nurses, interpreters, and patient care coordinators.

Nurse practitioners require a letter of recommendation from their current/former employer or a medical colleague, attesting to skills as an independent adult practitioner for a period of 2 full years. They must also have a current Connecticut license. Our medical volunteers typically work one 4-hour clinic session usually once every 4 weeks, or more frequently if desired. Flexible schedule.

Medical malpractice coverage is provided for all volunteers while on site.
