The YMCA Mentoring program is designed to build a better future for youth by helping them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults.

Mentors are matched one to one with area youth to help youth achieve their goals,improve self esteem, increase school performance, and gain positive interpersonal relationships. Mentors are friends, counselors, role models, supporters, and guides.

Mentors must be at least 21 years old and willing to commit to 1-3 ours per week with the youth over the course of a year.

A background check will be run on all potential mentors and 15 hours of training will be provided.

Description

Reach & Rise is a one-to-one community based mentoring program serving youth between the ages of 6-17. Based on therapeutic principles, Reach & Rise offers in-depth, comprehensive services to not only the youth of our program but the entire family unit as well. 15+ hours of training for the mentors and individualized growth plans for each mentee create an environment of intentional change. Mentors must be age 21 or older and commit to spending 1-3 hours per week with their mentee over the course of a year.
