About

Bird and Bunny Care: Our Bird and Bunny care (B&B) volunteers are an integral part of our center! While these volunteers do not get to work with the larger birds and mammals, that doesn't mean they are any less valuable! As a matter of fact, B&B volunteers work tirelessly around the clock during their shift feeding hungry baby birds as often as every 15 minutes and feeding and pottying helpless baby rabbits, rodents, and other small mammals as often as every 30 minutes. It's a workout, but it's very rewarding! B&B Volunteers can expect to:

  • Clean, sanitize, and organize inside and outside cages and enclosures
  • Prepare liquid and solid diets for patients
  • Feed baby songbirds and mammals
  • Develop and create enrichment to build life skills for young animals
  • Follow all proper protocol for different species and situations

Shift times for Bird and Bunny volunteers is as follows:

  • AM: 8am-12pm | Afternoon: 12pm-4pm | PM: 4pm-8pm
