Cook-Trenton Mobile Feeding Program Volunteer

Fridays 3-5pm

The Salvation Army maintains a mobile canteen unit which stands ready to serve the community during floods, fires and other emergencies or disasters. The Salvation Army also plans to utilize the canteen to serve meals in the neighborhoods of Trenton every Friday evening anticipating serving 200 plus individuals. We will provide dinner for a range of people - families, seniors, the homeless, veterans, and the disabled.

Volunteers are needed to help prepare meals at our Trenton Corps kitchen for the program. Volunteer are needed to cook dinner with available food items. Volunteer must know how to function in a commercial kitchen and be able to cook food for a large group of people. Volunteers will also be required to clean up after food preparation, sanitize the feeding area, wash dishes, and properly dispose of items that need to be disposed. Volunteers with a ServeSafe food handling certification would be a plus (free food-handling course is available if interested). Volunteer must be reliable and be able to work with a diverse group of people. Volunteers must be 18 years of age.
