As a Threshold singer, you will learn a repertoire of beautiful, meaningful, and soothing songs then go out with 2 -3 other singers to sing for hospice patients and their families in their homes, nursing homes or hospitals in the greater Cleveland area. No previous choral experience is necessary. Ability to read music is not essential if you can learn simple tunes and harmonies by ear and blend your voice with others. Time committment is 2 rehearsals per month with one of the Cleveland area Threshold Choir chapters and the ability to make a minimum of 1 visit per month to sing for a hospice patient who has requested your presence and song. Sometimes a patient or family will sing along or you may have the privilege to sing someone through their passage from this life. Visits are usually 30 minutues in length; a small amount of time that makes a very meaningful impact. A daughter of one patient stated, "The music was something I know my mother could hear and appreciate. The singers made her passing and our final hours with mother easier."
