Join a dynamic team of committed volunteers who will help thousands of people at various locations throughout Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson to save money in 2023 by not overpaying their taxes, so they can put those savings to good use!

Our 2023 Volunteer Tax preparation Assistance (VITA) program will begin soon and we are looking for individuals who would like to become, intake coordinators, greeters, or train to become IRS-certified tax preparers. No previous tax experience is required. Opportunities are available in various locations. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Southern Nevada needs your help. Hundreds of local volunteers will be trained and certified by IRS, preparing and filing federal income tax returns at over 21 non-profit and community-based agency VITA sites across the Las Vegas Valley and Pahrump free of charge for low to moderate-income individuals, families, students, senior, veteran, and disabled taxpayers.

For the upcoming tax season, the Nevada Free Taxes Coalition (NFTC) plans to recruit and train 250 volunteers. The 250 volunteers will each complete an average of 20 hours of training. Basic certification training will require eight hours. Advanced certification training will require eight hours and four additional hours for specialized certification levels. The Mission of the Nevada Free Taxes Coalition (NFTC) in partnership with the private and public sectors is to provide assistance to low to moderate-income individuals and families ensuring that they seek and receive tax credits to which they are entitled based on their family structure. The Coalition’s efforts to support the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) allow the NFTC group of non-profits to fulfill their mission of contributing to the long-term financial stability and strengthening of neighborhoods and communities.
