Ex Fabula strengthens community bonds through the art of storytelling. We host StorySlams, workshops, and community collaborations where community members - primarily adults - connect over true, personal stories. Our programs feel like entertainment but also allow participants to learn, advocate and even heal. We have several special projects that aim to amplify underrepresented voices and stories.
The Board supports Ex Fabula’s work by participating in strategic planning, thought leadership, and oversight to advance its mission. Individual board members also leverage their networks to build and strengthen Ex Fabula's community relationships and partnerships.

Description
Ex Fabula is a nonprofit founded in 2009, dedicated to strengthening community bonds through the art of storytelling. Ex Fabula founders are proud of the organization that they created and continue their involvement as Board Directors and staff.
By producing live storytelling events, we celebrate the power of true and personal stories to connect us. Paradoxically, stories reveal our shared humanity while also acknowledging that each person’s journey is unique. We can learn a lot from listening to the life experiences of those who are different from us. Each tale of struggle, triumph, and discovery reveals who we are now, and who we hope to become.
Ex Fabula is committed to diversity and hosts events throughout the city - from Bronzeville to Bay View and Westtown to Sherman Park.CAUSE AREAS
