Community Support Services (CSS) is seeking members to join our Board of Directors.

Our Mission: Community Support Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. CSS fosters independence by helping those we serve recognize their own abilities and envision a brighter future.

As a volunteer Board Director you will:

Community Support Services, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit service agency that initiates, provides and promotes services for people with developmental disabilities and their families, within their communities, in order to strengthen their independence, self-esteem, and ability to participate in and contribute to community life.

Description

For nearly 20 years, CSS has provided high quality, innovative services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. These services equip them with the tools they need to live, work and recreate along side other members of their community. CSS is a unique agency in Illinois, as we are one of the few that uses an individualized, family-centered and community-based approach that truly reinforces the independence and self-esteem of almost 500 children and adults each month.These state-of-the-art services have three major outcomes. They empower individuals to lead and independent and productive life. They strengthen families by supporting them in caring for their children with disabilities. They educate the general public so that people may understand and support their needs. This unique service approach has gained the recognition of families, political leaders, state funders and service organizations throughout Illinois.
