ORGANIZATION: Embracing Legacy

Embracing Legacy Tutors help students achieve their full potential in academics through both individual and small group instruction.

The goal of our tutors is to assist students in understanding material that has been taught in school.

Embracing Legacy Tutors must have the following:

  • Experience in instructing and guiding children
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong academic background in the subject area
  • Knowledge of Florida’s Current Academic Standards (not mandatory)
  • Enthusiasm and commitment
  • Patience when assisting students

Embracing Legacy Tutors are responsible for:

  • Assisting students on how to solve problems
  • Providing encouragement to the students
  • Maintaining a positive attitude
  • Coming up with strategies on how to instruct students
  • Communicating to students on their level
  • Working with the director closely

Embracing Legacy is committed to saving 1,000 youth a week through various sporting, artistic and academic programs; ultimately training a generation of future leaders that will leave a legacy of character, hope, and prosperity for generations to come.

Description

We believe in reaching youth where they are by offering programs and activities that are relevant to their lives. Through these channels we are able to support the needs for safety and belonging of each child.

We are interested in developing the whole person. Through various athletic programs, academic outlets, and artistic disciplines, we help develop the skills that youth need to excel in all areas of life.

We believe in servanthood. We thrive from the support of our dedicated volunteers, partners, and supporters. It is largely because of the commitment of these individuals and organizations that we are able to serve our youth in excellence.
