Neighborhood Clinic

GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION

Neighborhood Clinic provides completely free immediate care services for non-emergent medical problems, as well as hosting free dental services. Outreach Team Members get that message out in the community - so people who need our services know we are here, so that possible volunteers know about us, and so that possible donors know about us too!

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take occasional shifts at Neighborhood Clinic tables at area events/festivals to answer questions about the clinic’s services and needs. Volunteers are always scheduled in pairs for tabling.

  • Take occasional shifts to visit area businesses or organizations to share information about Neighborhood Clinic and/or replenish signs/flyers. Volunteers are scheduled in pairs or groups.

  • Help prepare outreach supplies; pack/load/unload materials for transport by car

  • Participate in "quick response" social media campaigns by sharing specific messages or posts by Neighborhood Clinic when a Quick Response Alert is sent out.

  • Assist in presentations given by Neighborhood Clinic staff for area community groups

Mission Statement

A free, walk-in medical clinic in Tacoma: The Neighborhood Clinic is grounded on the belief that healing occurs where physical and medical care is accompanied by consistent emotional support and a regard for the whole person. Therefore, in response to the call of the Spirit, we at the Neighborhood Clinic endeavor to meet each person as an individual, to heal, to bind up wounds, to teach and to advocate for those in need. We strive to foster an emotionally supportive atmosphere, focusing on holistic care for all of those we welcome through our door.
