We do not have any available volunteer shifts currently but are looking for volunteers to register with us now to begin helping us once Covid-19 is under control.
Our volunteers make a direct impact on the lives of those in our community through preparing, packing, and serving meals. Thousands of our neighbors in the Tri-Valley are not sure where their next meal will come from, and you can help make a difference. Description
Open Heart Kitchen's mission is "Equitable access to nutritious food today while building a food secure tomorrow." The work we do focuses on meeting immediate needs in the Tri-Valley, while also seeking ways to eliminate systematic inequalities leading to hunger in the first place. Our current programs include Senior Meals, Community Meals, Mobile Pop Up Pantries for grocery distribution, Street Outreach, and Open Heart Refuge.
Our guests come from all walks of life; the homeless, seniors on fixed incomes, the underemployed and many low-income families struggling to make ends meet. Open Heart Kitchen is their safety net against hunger.

- Our scheduling is flexible. Volunteers are able to create an online account and sign-up for shifts through their online account.
- Volunteers 14 and older must have a parent or guardian over the age of 18 volunteer with them. All volunteers are required to sign our Volunteer Release Waiver before volunteering with us.
