About

THE HUNT for the RED ROCKTOBER, is a fun, SFWA annual river clean up event. Come help keep our waterways clean and protect downstream water quality, from Santa Fe to the Rio Grande.

Find a RED ROCKTOBER ROCK, increase your LUCK to WIN one of our fun prizes. SFWA schwag and PRIZES from our generous sponsors will be given away to some lucky volunteers!

If a rock is found bring it back to our registration table at Alto Park! We will enter you into our prize drawings.

WHERE TO SIGN IN

You'll find us under the shade trees next to the tennis courts. Register here for the cleanup, enjoy light refreshments and lemonade.

When you are ready, we will give you trash bags and directions to a section of the river that needs your help. We have 10 miles to work in- from Patrick Smith Park on down to Airport Road. Room for everyone!

WHAT TO BRING-

  • Gloves and a reusable water bottle.
  • A jaunty hat that will keep the sun off.
  • Sense of humor - beware of getting micro trash syndrome...
  • Sharp eyes for river treasures like an 80's Gameboy, $50 bill, a silver piccolo, clothing for a super zombie costume, or a lucky RED ROCK....
