Read to Thrive is a non-profit organization with a mission of creating a passion for reading in children. We believe that reading is a gateway to better life.
We currently have book clubs at Newark Library, Fremont Library, and San Lorenzo Library in California and at JustBooks Gachhibowli in India. We would like to bring our programs to communities across the country & the world. We are currently looking for a volunteer who can be in charge of the following things:1. To find a location for conducting our program in your neighborhood. 2. This location can be a government school or a school catering to middle or low income children, a local library, or a community center. 3. Work with the school, library, or community center to setup Read to Thrive program. We will provide all the necessary support like promotional material etc to get this going. 4. Conduct book club for the children every month. We will provide the reading material and all the support needed for conducting the book club.
Volunteering for this program can take as little as two hours a month or as much time as you like. Read to Thrive is looking for volunteers who are 18 years of age or older who are willing to commit a minimum of 30 hours over the course of the next year. You can make a difference by volunteering.
