The Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation, is looking for volunteers to attend its 7th annual bereavement camp program, Camp Sheilah, which caters to grieving children who have suffered the loss of a parent, sibling, or legal guardian to homicide.
We are seeking individuals who can donate a weekend of their time to talk, play, listen to, and have fun with campers! Volunteer roles include Explorers (one-to-one mentors for each child), registered nurses, therapists/social workers, Scouts (ages 15-17), and additional support staff. There is a required 6 hour training course Saturday, July 15th from 9-3pm located at:
Camp Manitoqua

*Please note that a background check and fee of $25 is required

Through our partnership with Comfort Zone Camp (www.comfortzonecamp.org) and our college scholarship program, we believe that we can transform a child’s tragedy into a bright future.
Description
The Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation seeks to assist children who have lost a parent, guardian, or sibling to homicide. Our annual bereavement camp helps these children form lasting bonds with each other and let's them know they are not alone suffering such a tragedy.
