Mission Statement

AFS-USA works toward a more just and peaceful world by providing international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities through a global volunteer partnership.

Description

AFS is a not for profit intercultural education and exchange student organization. Partner countries from 50 different countries send about 2,300 students to the United States each year. AFS also sends approximately 1900 students and adults abroad every year. We provide support during their stay. Not all host families are obligated to hosting for a full year; some host as a temporary family until a family is found for the student. Students are provided with this program in order to explore new cultures around the world. This also gives families the opportunity to learn about another culture.
