Make a cancer patient's journey a little easier by driving them to their oncology appointments. The American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program volunteer drivers pick patients up from home, bring them to their appointments, then take them back home. Patients are often unable to make it to their appointments because they have no way to get there and this helps alleviate that burden.
Drivers are required to have a reliable vehicle and a current license, registration and insurance. A background check is required and training is provided. Rides are provided during normal business hours. Drivers are not required to take every ride asked of them, only what they commit to. Some drivers only drive once a month, some a few times weekly.
