Atlanta Family Hospice is seeking exceptional volunteers!
As hospice patients progress in the disease process, the ability to participate in activities that once brought joy such as reading and/or writing begins to dwindle. Activities such as reading become difficult due to the decline in eyesight, decreased physical strength or the inability to concentrate. As a volunteer, you can help a patient re-live the joy of reading by reading to them! If you are a great storyteller, share some of your best stories or jokes, if you enjoy writing help our patients by writing letters for them!
If you would love to be a companion to those in need volunteer at Atlanta Family Hospice!

About Atlanta Family Hospice
Location:
5950 Live Oak Parkway, Norcross, GA 30093, US
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide the highest quality individualized care to patients who face life-limiting illness. We believe the patient and family are one. We extend our support and services to our patients, their families, caregivers, and the communities we serve.
Description
Hospice isn't a place, it is a philosophy and level of extraordinary care. We focus on serving patients at end of life, with a prognosis of six months or less to live, if the disease runs its normal course. Hospice is palliation of pain and system management, not curative focused. We have an interdisciplinary rather than hierarchy approach, to meet the goals and expectations of our patients, as well as their family. Our team consists of Volunteers, nurses, physicians, certified nursing assistants, mastered prepared licensed medical social workers, non-denominational chaplains and spiritual care coordinators, as well as bereavement coordinators and our community partners.
